nullThe predators from the Yaujta clan are some of the scariest, gnarliest
creatures in cinema history. They hunt for the love of it – casually
leaving a trail of human skulls and destruction. While the previous
films highlight their cruelty towards humans, humans do not factor into
the narrative of Badlands. Opening on Yautja Prime, the predators’ home planet, the film, which is directed by Prey
filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg, introduces us to Dek (Dimitrius
Schuster-Koloamatangi), who despite his menacing form, is deemed the
runt of the litter by his father. He is, simply put, a disappointment
for not being as great a hunter as his father wants him to be. Turns
out, the punishment for this incompetence is death.
